Hey ladies and gents,
I read Twisted Love by Ana in less than twenty-four hours. While this was a reread, I absolutely loved every second of it. I don't know about you but when I have read a book and then it becomes popular, I feel like the characters where mine first. Sounds weird, I know, but it is what it is. I read this book back when it first came out. I read the first two before Twisted Hate and Twisted Lies came out, then the series exploded on booktok so I figured I would go through it again.
Alex is, unemotional, her brother's best friend, hot and cold. I personally love Alex, probably not the best, if were being honest. He is cold to the rest of the world, but he literally melts for her. This is my dream guy, which says a lot about me (eke). When Alex was about eleven his family was murdered in front of him, this really messed up his emotional development and all he wanted from then on was revenge. Everything Alex does from that moment on is in the name of revenge, his friends, his contacts, even how he spends his holidays.

Ava on the other hand is essentially a ray of sunlight. She may not be able to remember her childhood before the age of nine due to a traumatic experience, but she always has a smile. Ava is in her senior year at Thayer University, she is into photography and enjoys baking.
When her brother Josh leaves for a trip to Africa as a medical student, Alex (his best friend) moves into Josh's house (right next door to Ava's) to keep an eye on Ava for him. Due to this development Ava brings him cookies and her friends decide to see how many feelings she can draw out of him.

While trying to complete OPERATION EMOTION Ave and Alex become 'sort' of friends. Ave spends the night, unintentionally but still, go on essentially a picnic date, and have a few other run ins.
Alex even starts to teach Ava how to swim (she has major aquaphobia due to a childhood trauma she does not remember).
During their first time in the pool Ava has a panic attack, looking for a distraction Ava asks Alex to kiss her. Alex finally gives into his lust for her, and they spend a weekend in a hotel. After their time at the hotel Ava and Alex start a relationship.
During this time, Alex and Ava go to her childhood home for Thanksgiving. While their Ava's memories come back to her. She does not talk about them, however, until she and Alex leave. Turns out it was her dad who had tried to drown her rather than her mom like everyone had been telling her.
Alex immediately takes all of the information on her father he has to the FBI and sets up a meeting with him. During the meeting Ava learns that he is not her biological father and that he created the "extenuating circumstances" needed to gain custody of Josh.

After Michael (Ava's father) is sent to jail, Alex learns that it was not Michael who had Alex's family killed but, in fact Ivan, his uncle. Armed with this knowledge Alex grows distant from Ava as he takes his company from his uncle and sets up a new plan to deal with his uncle.

Unfortunately, Ivan gets to Ava before Alex can deal with him. When Ava and Bridget sneak out one night they get kidnapped, brought to Philidelphia and held at gun point while Iven demands money and his title back as CEO.
Alex does not cave to the demands and keeps talking to Ivan until Rhys (Bridget's bodyguard) shows up and incapacitates the man holding the girls at gun point. After the girls are out of the room Alex kills both Ivan and the guy who kidnapped the girls than sets the house on fire.
Unfortunately, to keep Ivan from seeing more, Alex said that he had been using Ava the whole time and that their relationship was fake (on his side of things). After this, Ava is heartbroken and sad (obviously). Her friends try everything to make her feel better, none of it works and, in the end, Ava decides to change her fellowship to London rather than New York.
After a month or so in London Ava walks out of the building her fellowship is located in and sees Alex. Over the next year Alex tries to win Ava back. He gave up his CEO position and moves to London for her, bought her gifts till she told him to stop and slowly starts to gain her trust again.
By the time Ava's fellowship is over, they are on talking terms, however, it is not until Alex sings at the photo exhibit that Ava decides she will follow her heart again, even if it leads her to heartbreak.

I do see some problems in their relationship, however, as terrible as it sounds there is always a problem or two. However, all in all, I really like this book. Agin, it was a reread, so I saw things that I did not see the first time through, which is always nice. In the end, I am glad they could get over their differences, Ava her trust and Alex his emotional barrier. My favorite part of this book was when Bridget walks into Alex's office and convinces him to follow his emotions and reminds him that he was able to save Ava in the end.
Sincerely,
Harper
